Luminance, the leading artificial intelligence platform for the legal profession, has been awarded for ‘Enterprise Startup of the Year’ and ‘Best Data/Analytics Technology of the Year’ at The Techies 2018, hosted by Techworld. The company also took home the final award of the night, ‘The Grand Prix’, for overall excellence in the UK tech sector.
The Techies recognises and celebrates the UK’s best technology companies, products, projects, and personalities. An expert panel of judges selected Luminance for its innovative approach to legal document understanding and the transformative effect the platform has had on M&A due diligence and other document review processes. Other winners on the night included Expedia and Yodel.
“We are thrilled to have been awarded for our ground-breaking technology three times in one evening,” said Emily Foges, CEO of Luminance. “Winning ‘Enterprise Startup of the Year’ and ‘Best Data/Analytics Technology of the Year’ is testament to Luminance’s pioneering application of AI and the impact it is having on the legal industry. Having launched the product only 18 months ago, taking home the final award for ‘Grand Prix Winner’ is a fantastic achievement for the Luminance team and we are grateful for this recognition by the Techworld judges.”
Luminance, which has been adopted by over 50 leading organisations worldwide, uses machine learning algorithms developed by mathematicians from Cambridge University to enhance contract review. The technology instantly sorts and classifies documents while highlighting possible anomalies for lawyers’ review. Luminance has completed over 200 transactions and has customers in 16 countries since launching in 2016.
