Luminance wins National Technology Award

18 May 2018 |

Luminance, the leading artificial intelligence platform for the legal profession, has been awarded ‘Startup Tech Company of the Year’ at this year’s National Technology Awards, recognising the company’s exceptional growth and advanced machine learning platform.

The National Technology Awards celebrate the pioneers of new technology, encouraging excellence in the field of innovation. The ceremony recognises those who have made outstanding technological contributions across a variety of sectors, including the legal profession, security, and finance. An independent panel of judges, including representatives from Virgin Media and EC3 Consultants, chose Luminance as the most pioneering tech startup of the year.

“We are delighted that Luminance has been recognised for its innovative technology at this year’s prestigious National Technology Awards,” said Emily Foges, CEO of Luminance. “We are in the midst of a generational shift in the legal technology market and winning ‘Startup Tech Company of the Year’ is testament to Luminance’s position at the forefront of this movement. We are hugely grateful for this accolade from an esteemed panel of judges.”

Developed by mathematicians from Cambridge University, Luminance automatically reads, compares and analyses the contents of a large data room, giving lawyers an instant view of the size and complexity of the transaction. Its unique ability to spot anomalies and unusual clauses can highlight documents of potential concern, giving lawyers the ability to prioritise their work more effectively.

Luminance has over 75 customers in 23 countries across five continents since launching in September 2016, including ten of The Global 100 law firms. The company has opened offices in Chicago and Singapore to support a fast-growing customer base of top-tier law firms around the world.
