March 16 | London Luminance, the pioneer of Legal-Grade™ AI for enterprise legal teams, today announced the appointment of Greg Pelander as Chief Technology Officer. In his new role, Greg will be responsible for Luminance’s technology strategy, engineering execution and infrastructure.
Pelander, who will be based in Cambridge, brings nearly two decades of engineering leadership at prominent West Coast and Silicon Valley technology companies to the role. Most recently VP of Engineering for Product and AI at ClickUp, he scaled the company’s engineering organization as it grew into one of the most widely used productivity platforms in the world. Before that, he spent eight years at SurveyMonkey leading engineering across multiple product lines, and six years at Yahoo.
The hire follows a period of rapid technical expansion at Luminance. In January, Luminance introduced architecture that retains negotiation history and legal decision-making across contracts, giving enterprises a permanent institutional memory. In March, Luminance’s Autonomous Negotiation (previously called Autopilot) which allows fully automated agent-to-agent contract negotiation, was expanded company-wide, no longer limiting it to legal teams.
“Greg’s track record of building strong engineering cultures at leading Silicon Valley companies and aligning technical strategy with business outcomes makes him an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” said Eleanor Lightbody, CEO of Luminance. “He’s the perfect person to lead technology development as we look to continue our rapid global expansion.”
“Luminance’s technology stands alone in Legal and Enterprise AI, and that’s because they’re fearless about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. The opportunity to build on Luminance’s global success and take things even further is exciting, and I’m proud to join this exceptional team,” said Greg Pelander, Chief Technology Officer.
